Human Resource Manager

Summary:

Manages the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, leave, and performance management processes, and enforcing company policies and practices. 

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required. 
  • A minimum of one year of human resource management experience required. 
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. 
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. 

Specific Job Functions: 

  • Manages the recruitment and hiring process of qualified job applicants; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications. 
  • Oversees the new hire onboarding program and provides required training.  
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, and monitors their resolution. 
  • Ensures feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations are being given according to established guidelines. 
  • Acts as a liaison between the Bank and external benefits providers. 
  • Facilitates employee benefit programs and open enrollment process  
  • Oversees the affirmative action program. 
  • Develops and oversees the Bank’s DEI strategy. 
  • Maintains the Personnel Policy and Procedures Manual. 
  • Collaborates with managers to generate and maintain job descriptions. 
  • Participates in salary and benefits surveys and reports to management on current trends. 
  • Oversees internal development programs and initiatives, including Job Shadowing, Bank Interns, Student Tellers, and Management Development Program. 
  • Participates on the Customer Recognition and Employee Recognition committees. 
  • Represents the bank at job fairs and student development opportunities.  
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. 
  • Oversees all functions of the Payroll/Benefits Administrator. 
  • Participates in regional HR groups and VBA HR committee. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
