Operations Specialist

Summary:                  Assists in the planning, initiation, execution, and delivery of projects related to Bank operations. Serves as a main point of contact for end-user support for bank software.

Salary Range:            $26.45 to $31.25 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.   A higher rate may be offered to candidates with exceptional experience or skills.

Job Requirements:

  • Two years previous technical experience in a financial institution environment and two years previous information systems experience or training.
  • Implementation and support experience with banking applications.
  • Working knowledge of the financial institution’s vendor-specific operational systems and environment.
  • Internal customer service-oriented problem solver and team player.
  • Skill in recognizing recurring or related issues that users consistently report.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, as well as excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and project management abilities.

Specific Job Functions:

  • Works with SVP Retail to ensure that the financial institution’s core and other supporting software systems and reporting systems are interfacing and functioning as expected; also works with branch staff on new updates to the teller system.
  • Serves as the bank liaison with the various third-party vendors providing software and reporting systems.
  • Works with approved outside vendors to maintain the financial institution’s operational equipment, systems, and environments.
  • Assists management in the setup and implementation of new banking products and services.
  • Works with branch staff to troubleshoot problems and assists with the maintenance of the cash recyclers and ATMs.
  • Assists in ongoing training of financial institution personnel on specific software applications and operational and support topics.
  • Fields end-user inquiries relating to software operations and problems.
  • Maintains knowledge of internal resources to mitigate disruption of services to customers. Communicates recurring or serious issues to the IT Manager, senior management, and vendors.
  • Recommends temporary workarounds and viable solutions to improve customer service and response.
  • Troubleshoots software problems and provides resolutions or notifies appropriate personnel.
  • Helps lead the implementation of an AI program, including the development and execution of policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
  • Accepts responsibility to stay abreast of all Federal and State laws, as well as compliance regulations governing the bank in general, and stay informed of and comply with all laws and regulations relating to the employee’s job function in particular.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Exemption Status 

  • Non-exempt, hourly position.

Location:

  • Operations Center located in Wells River, Vermont.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5pm
